The Investlytic method, clearly.

Each stock in the universe passes through the same engine: 5 objective criteria, measured on real market data. Here's exactly what they test, where the numbers come from, and what the method does not do.

The engine

The 5 criteria, one by one.

Each criterion is a binary test (passed or failed), applied identically to all stocks. The thresholds below are those actually used by the engine.

Price trend over 8 years

seuil : ×1,5 minimum

Engine rule: the price has been multiplied by at least 1.5 over an 8-year period.

Croissance du chiffre d'affaires & des bénéfices

seuil : CAGR > 1 %/an

We calculate the annualized growth rate (CAGR) of revenues and profits over 8 years. Both must increase: a company that sells more and earns more, not just one of the two.

Règle moteur : tendance positive (> 1 %/an) des revenus and des bénéfices sur 8 ans.

Controlled Debt

seuil : Dette / fonds propres < 0,5

Règle moteur : ratio Dette / Fonds propres < 0,5 (seuil max).

Reasonable Valuation (P/E)

seuil : P/E < 25

Règle moteur : ratio P/E < 25 (seuil max).

Recent market correction (6 months)

target range: 10% to 20%

We measure the decline since the highest point of the last 6 months. The target range is a pullback of 10% to 20%: enough for a more interesting entry point, without signaling a breakdown. Beyond 20%, the correction is deemed excessive; below 10%, the pullback is insufficient.

Engine rule: correction within 10% to 20% from the highest point over 6 months.

The score out of 5

The score is purely mechanical: it adds factual tests without subjective opinions or hidden weighting.

Where the numbers come from

Data sources.

Published market data

Prices, balance sheets, and income statements come from a financial data provider. Amounts are converted to USD at the current exchange rate; ratios remain neutral to currency.

Daily updates

Automated tasks refresh the datasets daily. The exact freshness of each dataset can be viewed live on the Service Status page.

No value invented

The engine works only with real numbers. When a data point is missing for a stock, it is not rated rather than being completed with an estimate.

Item · transparency

How we calculate the performance.

Each performance displayed on the site (for example in simulators) follows the same calculation rule stated here to avoid any ambiguity.

What method?
What Period?
The calculation period is always displayed next to the result (start date and end date). Performance without a period makes no sense: we specify it systematically. Trading fees and taxes are not deducted unless explicitly stated (for example, the PEA / securities account comparator).
What do these results mean for the future?
Nothing is guaranteed. Past performance is a historical fact, not a prediction. Markets can evolve differently; investing carries the risk of capital loss. Simulations serve to understand a mechanism, not to promise a gain.
Honesty

The limits of the method.

A simple and transparent model has blind spots. Here they are, without beating around the bush.

  • The engine is mechanical: it applies 5 numerical tests and does not judge the quality of management, competitive positioning, or macroeconomic context.
  • A high score does not predict the future evolution of a share price. It's a starting point for your own analysis, not a conclusion.
  • Thresholds (x1.5 · P/E 25 · debt 0.5 · correction 10-20%) are method choices : useful for comparison, but arbitrary by nature.
  • The method does not take into account your personal situation (time horizon, tax, risk tolerance, diversification).
Reminder. Investlytic is an information and financial education tool. The content does not constitute investment advice, personalized recommendations, or solicitations. Investing involves the risk of capital loss; past performance does not guarantee future results. In case of doubt, consult a qualified advisor.
